£120 for a taxi to Ebbsfleet

I am told that this was paid by an elderly gentleman from Romney Marsh in order to get a train to Brussels to visit his family there. (I don’t think he realises how much it would cost when he set off.) That’s twice the price of his Eurostar ticket. He was obviously ill-advised by his travel agent and will not be going again.

Cases like this only serve to further diminish Eurostar’s reputation in the eyes of those who already feel resentful at having lost so many of our services.

Why We're Here

Eurostar, the international train company, will end all direct Ashford to Brussels services from 19th November 2007 when they open a new station at Ebbsfleet, some 35 miles away. We, as regular Eurostar passengers, wish to help save Eurostar from a decision that will undermine their existing customer base and their reputation.
