I am appalled that Ashford does not have a s much as a large paper poster on one of the free-standing boards saying that the Brussels service has been restored and said so many weeks ago to the CEO.
A letter I received dated 6th April said that having invited the press to the first day of the restored service there was widespread coverage in the local newspapers and TV. I felt obliged to point out that a great many people working in Brussels don’t get these papers or ITV and the BBC is London not South-East so they heard nothing.
Ha anyone seen any advertising in Brussels at all for our new service? How can you expect people to buy tickets if they are unaware that the service exists? Why would anyone even look at the Eurostar website for trains which they know were withdrawn?
I was also led to believe that Eurostar was going to be promoting Kent. Can you tell me how? We have no morning trains from either Lille or Brussels so no-one can get here. And there isn’t much point in arriving at Ebbsfleet unless you have transport. So how can they promote a place that is inaccessible from most of Europe?

Why We're Here

Eurostar, the international train company, will end all direct Ashford to Brussels services from 19th November 2007 when they open a new station at Ebbsfleet, some 35 miles away. We, as regular Eurostar passengers, wish to help save Eurostar from a decision that will undermine their existing customer base and their reputation.
