According to a French transport magazine ‘Eurostar trains were not equipped for the winter.’
According to the procedure forms, for the maintenance of Eurostar trains, the preparation for winter (winterisation), which includes the fitting of anti-snow screens, either at the Landy or Temple-Mills workshops, should have been done between September and November 2009. As far as we are aware, this was only done after the incidents of 19th December 2009 and the days which followed.
Claude Gressier and Christopher Garnett, co presidents of the independent Eurostar enquiry should publish their findings during the week beginning 8th February.

Why We're Here

Eurostar, the international train company, will end all direct Ashford to Brussels services from 19th November 2007 when they open a new station at Ebbsfleet, some 35 miles away. We, as regular Eurostar passengers, wish to help save Eurostar from a decision that will undermine their existing customer base and their reputation.
